President's Message by Ergün Kırlıkovalı

Dear Turkish Americans and Friends of Türkiye:

October was an extremely eventful and dramatic month both for ATAA and the Republic of Türkiye, if not also for the United States.  First we had the tragic killing of 24 of our young and brave Turkish soldiers by the PKK Terrorists, in a cowardly hit-n-run plot, as always.  Then we had 13 our young and brave American soldiers also dastardly killed by an El Qaeda (or Taliban?) suicide bomber in Afghanistan.  Civilians were targeted by yet another PKK suicide bomber, killing 3, wounding many, in the town of Bingol.

Those in the big media who still mindlessly play the game of "my terrorist is better than your terrorist", beware!   Each time you romanticize and glorify those blood-thirsty PKK narco-terrorists by referring to them as "guerillas", or worse yet, "freedom fighters", you are risking the wrath and rejection of ever growing segments of both the Turkish public and the American public.   Would you still call those heavily drugged, mindless, and murderous PKK terrorists guerillas if your son or daughter was victimized by them when PKK's suicide bombers blew themselves up at a shopping mall or theater near you?  I sincerely wonder.  Continue
