ATAA remembers the victims of the Srebrenica Massacres this month in 1995. The Serbian Armed Forces, assisted by the Greek Volunteer Guard (Grčka Dobrovoljačka Garda / Ελληνική Εθελοντική Φρουρά) rounded up more than 8000 Bosniaks, mostly men and boys, and machined gunned them down in the fields around the region. ATAA Past President Gunay Evinch hosted a goodbye lunch for Turkish American Community Center Imam Cahid Kara, who departed to Turkey after four years of serving the Turkish American community of Washington DC.  Evinch expressed, "Modern spiritual leadership requires an open mind and an open heart, for times are changing and the world is getting smaller rapidly.
