Dear Turkish Americans and Friends of Turkey: ATAA supports Somalia Relief Fund established by the Turkish Philanthropy Funds and urges all members to chip in. Somalia has been worst hit with more than 2000 people are dying every day. In search of food, people are fleeing to the capital, Mogadishu, controlled by a weak interim government, or to refugee camps in neighboring Kenya and Ethiopia. It is a journey without much hope. The most vulnerable are the women and the children. You can help. It is our moral responsibility not to stay idle on the sidelines. Aid groups in Turkey already raised 51 million Turkish Liras and aid cargo ships are on their way. It is our turn now. TPF pledges that hundred percent of your donations will go to UNICEF to fill the funding gap of $120 million for the emergency operation in Somalia. Among the most urgent needs are food for malnourished children, safe water for tankering in drought-stricken areas, bednets to prevent malaria, and family kits for people on the move. Your donation of:
You can contribute to the Somalia Relief Fund online or by sending your check to: We thank the Turkish Philanthropy Funds Team and you, our members and friends, for making this humanitarian help possible.
