Dr. Sibel Blau
Medical Oncologist, Puyallup, Washington.

Sibel Blau, M.D. received her medical degree from Istanbul University in 1987 and completed her internship, residency and chief residency at MetroHealth Medical Center, Case Western Reserve University in 1995 in Cleveland, Ohio. She completed her Hematology-Oncology fellowship at CWRU in 1998 and Stem Cell Transplant fellowship at FHCRC in 1999. She worked as a staff physician, doing research on Graft Versus Host Disease at LTFU department of FHCRC until 2001. Dr. Blau has been in private practice at Rainier Hematology Oncology since 2001. She became the medical director of the practice in 2005. She helped her practice to become private by merging with Northwest Medical Specialties in 2007. Since that time, she has involved in building and developing her own division as well as the business aspects of her organization. Dr. Blau has served as a medical director of inpatient oncology and helped found the multidisciplinary breast program of Good Samaritan Hospital. Dr. Blau also helped starting the Puyallup leadership steering committee for independent physicians in 2010.

Dr. Blau has been very active in clinical research working closely with CCOP and the Clinical Research Program at Northwest Medical Specialties that includes Phase I trials. She is currently one of the highest recruiters into intergroup trials in the state. She has also been active expanding her practice to Bonney Lake and Enumclaw communities. She has interest in building protocols for personalized treatment for oncology and cost effective models for treating cancer patients. She became involved with a not for profit organization, Partners in Personal Oncology and heading its breast cancer program development as of April 2011. As part of NWMS, she is actively involved in Cancer Clinics of Excellence (CCE) and as a member of CCE's Breast User Group, developing evidenced based treatment protocols for breast cancer for all member clinics.
