With the guidance of the Assembly of Turkish American Associations (ATAA),  local Turkish American associations have been successful  in receiving ‘Turkish Republic Day’ proclamations over the years. Proclamations are very important for the Turkish American community’s efforts to be recognized as a distinct cultural group as well as helping to pave the way for stronger U.S. – Turkish ties.
