ATAA condemns killing of Turkish American activist Aysenur Ezgi Eygi by Israeli soldiers
We are saddened by the news that a Turkish American woman Aysenur Ezgi Eygi was killed by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers in the West Bank on September 6, 2024.
Born in 1998 in Antalya, and naturalized citizen of the USA, Aysenur joined to the International Solidarity Movement (ISM) as a volunteer, and was observing the Palestine activists who were protesting the illegal occupation of Israel in the Beita region of the West Bank, when she was shot by an Israeli soldier.
We extend our condolences to her family and friends and condemn the Israeli government for their violent policy against the innocent people of Palestine! We hope Israel will stop the violence against innocent people, and illegal expansion both in Gaza and the West Bank immediately.
