UN Related Announcement
In support of United Nations (UN) “World Science Day for Peace and Development”, Assembly of Turkish American Associations (ATAA) ), formally associated with the United Nations Department of Global Communications (DGC), is pleased to announce its “2021 Youth Competition”.
The competition presents an opportunity to young Turkish-Americans to be part of this celebration. Youth teams will prepare and present a program that will help them get involved in global affairs, learn how to prepare a high-quality program, and learn how to efficiently work in teams. The program that has been chosen will be presented on the targeted UN Day and their program will be kept in UN archives. The participants whose entries that have not been chosen will also be able to show their efforts in their resumes. Teams will be able to consult with ATAA Committee on UN Relations member Dr. Selim Erhan as their mentor during the preparation of their program and to study similar presentations from 2020 to 2021.
The competition is open to all Turkish-American Youth Teams in the United States and Canada.
The topic of the competition is “The World Science Day for Peace and Development Day” and it needs to be based on the efforts during the foundation of the Republic of Turkey between 1920 and 1938. The vision that was presented during these years has been very instrumental in helping Turkey to reach a high level of living standards in a very short time. The program will be able to present these successful outcomes which have been an example to many countries and will hopefully be an inspiration for many new generations.
